The Simple Dollar Employment Guide

The personal finance website The Simple Dollar recently published a free online employment guide that has a lot to offer IAAP members who find themselves back in the job market. The Employment Guide is designed to provide readers with a thorough roadmap of the job-search process, from the initial self-assessment and goal-setting stage to the application and interview phase and beyond. The guide offers a wealth of information, insight, and expert advice in a concise, easy-to-digest format designed for both experienced professionals and first-time job hunters alike. This guide would be especially useful when used in combination with the IAAP’s own online Job Board.

This guide was created with a close eye on the technological realities of today’s job market. In addition to explaining the key job-search methods and tools people have been using to great effect for years, it also informs readers about the online tools that have become so critical to job hunting today. The “Prepare Your Personal Brand” section of the guide is a great example of how it provides readers with the information they need to be successful in today’s job market.

Check it out here:

CAP Exam - Computer-Based Testing

One of the initiatives of our Strategic Plan 2013-2018 is to move our CAP certification exam and OM specialty exam from paper and pencil testing to computer-based testing.

We are excited to announce that we currently plan to move to computer-based testing in 2015. We can’t share a lot of specifics yet; however, we can say that computer-based testing will be done through a company with secure testing centers and a consistent delivery system, with testing locations throughout North America.

In order to make this a smooth transition, we will not be providing testing for CAP certification or the OM specialty in November 2014. As such, the only test date in 2014 will be the upcoming May exams...
